Continuing to introduce the next wave of talent, Georgia Highlands College baseball introduces freshman for 2014-15, Jake Swan. The first baseman currently attends Etowah High School in Woodstock, Ga.
"Georgia Highlands is a great fit for me, because I have the opportunity to play baseball at a high level while I complete my core courses and to enhance my opportunity to play at a 4 year college", said Swan.
As a junior at Etowah High School , Swan started at 1B OBP .357, FPCT .982,)
"Every time we talked to a coach about Jake they would use the word, 'clutch'," Chargers skipper Mike Marra said. "We could tell that Jake is a very good athlete with a special skill set, but when you added that feel for getting the big hit when the lights are on, we knew Jake would be a great Charger. Jake is a guy who clearly makes his teammates better, which shows he's demonstrating great leadership skills, which we believe will help him do great things at GHC."
Jake plans to study Art at GHC and said his career goals include coaching, wildlife photography, and video broadcasting. Outside of baseball, he has volunteered at his church and in the soup kitchen. His hobbies and interests include photography, tennis, basketball, canoeing, and hanging out with his friends.
