Today, Charger baseball announces a member of its incoming class of freshman for 2014-15, Zach Nierstedt. The OF currently attends Elmira Free Academy High School in Elmira, NY .
"Georgia Highlands is a great fit for me, because it's an opportunity to get an affordable education while having the chance to develop my athletic abilities."
As a junior at Elmira Free Academy, Zach was all conference in both baseball and basketball as well a Chemung County player of the week
"Zach is a physical, hard-nosed player who has the ability to an impact player for us,” Charger head coach, Mike Marra said. “He can hit the ball to all fields with power , runs well and has good baseball instincts.”
Zach plans to study General Studies and his career goals include make a difference in the lives of young athletes through coaching college basketball or playing professional baseball
Outside he has volunteered :
Arctic league winter drive
Salvation Army bell ringing
Star league for athletes with disabilities
Suicide prevention walk
Several events for NHS
Hobies and interests include:
